In a floor speech today, Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.) defended Secretary of State Hillary Clinton’s top aide, Huma Abedin, against allegations that she is part of a grand conspiracy by the Muslim Brotherhood to infiltrate the U.S. government. Rep. Michele Bachmann (R-MN) and several other GOP lawmakers sent a series of letters to several federal agencies demanding that they investigate possible infiltrations by the Muslim Brotherhood. Despite having the rumors resoundingly rejected by most media outlets the GOP lawmakers persisted with their crusade.
