The School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA) at Columbia University is holding what promises to be a thought provoking and informative forum ahead of the launch of the Journal’s Fall/Winter 2011 issue, “Inside the Authoritarian State”.
The forum, Thought Leadership Forum on Authoritarian States, will examine the mechanics behind authoritarian regimes and how these regimes and states interact with the international system.
The featured speakers will include:
Gary Sick, Senior Research Scholar at Columbia University’s Middle East Institute and former US National Security Council member under Presidents Ford, Carter, and Reagan
Andrew Exum, Senior Fellow at Center for New American Security
Christopher Walker, Vice President for Strategy and Analysis at Freedom House
Peter Godwin, foreign correspondent and author of The Fear: Robert Mugabe and the Martyrdom of Zimbabwe
A cocktail reception will follow the forum where you will get the opportunity to interact with the featured speakers as well as others.
“Inside the Authoritarian State” is available for purchase at www.jiacolumbia.org or as an e-book on Amazon.com. You can also purchase copies on site at the event.
